BitTorrent sites are overloaded with ads for malware ridden BitTorrent clients and paid tutorials that promise to quadruple your download speed. They try to lure naive users into downloading their products with catchy phrases such as “Breakthrough Information Will Have You Downloading Torrents Up To 475% Faster”. It’s time to take them down.

We don’t mean to influence the “Worst Company In America” voting, but check this out: if you call Comcast and ask them to stop sending you anything other than your bill, they’ll agree but quietly slap you with a $1.99 “change of service” fee.

Tree growing in rotting paper, Detroit Public Schools book depository. This is a building where a deeply-troubled public school system once stored its supplies, and then one day apparently walked away from it all, allowing everything to go to waste. The interior has been ravaged by fires and the unburnt supplies have been subjected to the weather.

Two U.S. pension funds have sued Yahoo Inc. and its board of directors, saying they breached their duties to shareholders in trying to thwart a takeover by Microsoft Corp. The lawsuit was filed in Delaware Chancery Court on Thursday by lawyers representing Detroit’s police and fire retirement system and general retirement system, as well as “all…

Radioactive Sandwich - Demon Duck of Doom
New York, New York………..Since the beginning of time, two things have been true: Humans needs food and Humans need to create music. Combine these two prehistoric needs and you find the group Radioactive Sandwich. Slice One and Slice Two came together realizing they were starved for a more fulfilling, hearty breed of music. They felth that they needed to create a hearty, filling meal of music… not only for themselves, but also for the millions of starving people out there just like them.
Combining fresh breaks, groovy bass, and psychedelic synth lines, Radioactive Sandwich servers up a meal that will surely satiate even the strongest hunger.
Radioactive Sandwich has released 3 albums and provided remixes for Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo (feat. Peter Gabriel), and Kelly Sweet. They are currently at work on a 4th release and some more remixes. Keep a look out for new Sandwich coming soon to speakers near you!

Dominic Bodell (This Boys Satellite)

This Boy’s Satellite - Cast Away
Dominic Bodell, has worked with Los Angeles producer, David Eaton, whose productions for unsigned artists (Dynamite Hack “Boyz-N-Tha Hood” and The Polyphonic Spree) have topped radio playlists and lead to major label signings. “He get tons of cd’s from young bands trying to be stars,” producer David Eaton says. “Some people try to write about life. Dominic’s life forces him to write. Thats what makes his music meaningful.”
Dominic also drew great interest from East Coast A&R rep Mickey memphitz wright. He is the former singer/guitarist/songwriter for Rifle Street Music, and this is my new solo project, “This Boys Satellite”. Expect more music on a frequent basis.
“I am writing and recording non-stop . Drop me message or comment often. I love any and all kinds of feedback, comments and mail. I am extremely proud of my latest project, it is my most honest and sincere work to date, I hope you enjoy it too. Thanks everyone, I hope to hear from all of you soon.” - Dominic Bodell (This Boys Satellite)

Deadly Avenger (aka Damon Baxter)

It was hard to choose just one track to showcase but I went with one of my faves. “Chevy Chases Hair“, lol funny title, but an unbeliveable subtle electronic breakbeat track…ahhhh…just sooooo smooth, perfect driving music
Deadly Avenger - Chevy Chases hair
It’s midnight. Everything is quiet. The sound of owls compete for their space in the country soundscape with the creak of a 300 year old oak tree caressed by the wind. Filtering over the top like some kind of futuristic symphony orchestra the sonorous harmonies of weighty strings, floating over the electronic drums and ethereal vocals break through the calm. This is the sound of Deadly Avenger (aka Damon Baxter) hard at work in his studio, installed into his cottage in the Heart of the English countryside.
For the last three years Damon has been holed up in his country retreat hard at work on his new album, the follow up to the cult classic album “Deep Red”, which featured “We Took Pelham”, “Punisher” and “Black Sun”. Due for release in 2008, “Blossoms & Blood”, his stunning 2nd opus, is going to prove that it was truly worth the wait…
“The backdrop of my studio, looking out onto rolling fields inspires me”, says Damon. “Film music is what I love most and having such a dramatic outlook soaks into my work.”
Damon’s love for all things cinematic is evident all the way through his new recording. The storming opener “We Took Vegas” is a case in point and is influenced by Damon’s love of the epic audio/visual feast witnessed at the beginning of “Star Wars” (possibly the finest opening scenes in movie history!) while other tracks such as “Mal Paso Pt II”, “The Reveal” and the title track showcase his talent for juxtaposing sweeping, epic string parts with electro breaks. Another aspect of the Deadly Avenger sound can be heard in “Invincible”, “Chevy Chases Hair” and “Gekko” which reveal a techno influence that ups the tempo, but retain his skill for harmony and melody. There are also some shining examples of leftfield down-tempo tracks in “Sequola”, “Suite from Near To Me”, “Exit” and “Everyday is Valentine”, while some tracks combine all of these elements with stunning results – “The Wraith”, “800 Heroes” and “Midgets for Seven”.
“The thing I like most about film music is that there are no boundaries. You can team up lush orchestral pads with heavy industrial bass and it works!”
It’s clear the music on this album is inspired by Damon’s admiration of the great film composers (such as John Williams, Lalo Schifrin and the mind blowing Luchi DeJesus!). But his love affair with hip-hop/electro breaks, Americana, synthpop, electronica, and soundtrack selections by the likes of Tarantino are all evident too. It’s this melting pot of influences that are fused to create an incredible album and a deep appreciation of cinematic sounds.
Tracks from his first album have been used in a number of TV, trailers and film productions including Lord of The Rings, Scary Movie 3, Human Traffic and The Calcium Kid and the new album is sure to follow that trend. There has already been excitement from the synch world in “Blossoms & Blood” resulting in uses in “C.S.I. New York”, the main BBC theme for coverage of The Commonwealth Games, Sky/Fox Sports, and a recent Sky TV advertising campaign. Deadly’s music is also used in “Beyond The Rave” – a brand new production from the masters of UK horror, Hammer Films. Damon has also just started work on scoring a full-length movie (music to picture).
