GLASTONBURY (Reuters) - The tents are packed up and most of the 140,000 music lovers have made their weary way home, but memories of this year’s Glastonbury festival, and its headline act Jay-Z, are likely to linger.
The choice of the rapper to perform on the main stage at a festival best known for its guitar-based rock acts was widely criticized, and Oasis’s Noel Gallagher riled the musician by saying the organizers were wrong to pick him.
Jay-Z’s response was emphatic.
He opened his show with a film using Gallagher’s now infamous comments and a montage of clips parodying him, before launching into an acoustic rendition of one of Oasis’s biggest hits: “Wonderwall.” Most fans and critics were impressed.
The RIAA won a pair of victories last week as a judge finally awarded the labels a default judgment in a case where the defendant never showed up in court. In another case, the RIAA convinced a judge to award $23,250 in damages after the defendant admitted to downloading and sharing music over KaZaA.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio for 20 years before being transplanted to north Georgia where he found his love for music. He’s been a Dj for about 7 years now, played every small venue, party, frat party, small club, wedding, u name it, he’s rocked it.
“If they let me touch the sound in any way, in any genre, it didn’t matter to me as long as the crowd response was hype. I love playing for the crowd and was so versicle I got a lot of experience fast. “
Dj Phame - Best Days Of My Life 69 Remix.mp3
It definitely shows in his music today. He’s followed his heart, along with some advice Paul Van Dyk once gave him, and it lead him down a path of house music and breaks(trance/techno/electronica). Dj Phame says “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He try’s to always incorporate classics, weather it is classic rock, or old school tracks re-spun, or accapellas over beats he has made, a large part of this comes out in his music.
“I idolize Dj’s like Tiesto, PVD, Paul Okenfold, Dj Icey, just to name a few, and learned their styles and always give credit for them paving my road.” ~Phame
I really want to be know as a remixer, where people will send me their tracks and I’ll put my own, unique spin on it. I just released my 3rd Mix CD entitled InPhamous. On top of that, I also produce my own beats and music, and offer professional recording and mastering. I have my own gear, (beat machines, digital recorders, keyboards, turn tables, etc,..) and right now I have 4 or 5 projects in the works to be released for before 2008. InPhamous is in on line stores !!! Look for it, pick it up, its got something for everybody. Thanks for all the support. Peace. -:-Dj Phame-:-
Apart from The Pirate Bay guys, most tracker administrators are acutely aware of the risks they expose themselves to, and do everything they can to hide in the shadows. We speak to a tracker owner to find out the lengths these guys are prepared to go to protect their identities.
Finaly someone standing up to the crooked execs and promoting the usefulness of bittorrents. What ever happened to Metallica? Exactly~Peilo
The Flashbulb, aka Benn Jordan, became so outraged when he discovered that iTunes was effectively pirating his music, that he uploaded copies of his latest album to BitTorrent. TorrentFreak caught up with Benn to learn more about the decision to stop distributors and ‘coked-up label reps’ from getting all the cash.
Bootleg/Mashup as cited from belgabootlegs.be and Ben Double M -
To mix/remix one (or more) acapella(s) on instrumental different than the original tracks (with or without additional production)
About the ‘remixes’ , in most cases, only the voice is original, the whole musical base – or part of it – is (re)created. Bootleg, mashup or remix, whatever, appeals to your creative skills
…Sorry, we haven’t found yet a software that can remix a track while you’re sleeping… ;)) - Ben Double M
Below is his newest non-commercial audio release. He also has available some pretty sweet video remixes to checkout. To download, please visit his site.
Madonna vs Envio - What it feels like for the sun ~ by Ben Double M
Madonna’s 2001 “what it feels like for a girl” vs. Envio’s “touched by the Sun” a track released back in October of 2003. This is expertly remixed for you’re pure listening pleasure. “TRUST” this is one track you need to have for your collection. Simply put, this is a beautiful remix of an older but extremly popular track from Madonna that has been a hit for years. I used another similar mashup myself back in 2005 on my first VA mix CD (Jolene’s Mix). It was Safari Duo vs. Madonna - What it feels like for a girl. Which I may post if time becomes available just for comparison, perhaps a poll. Anyways, it sounds incredible and posted it for you to check it out. Don’t forget to check out his web-sites and listen to all his other mashups. There are a ton of them, I’m sure you’ll find something you like. One of my personal favs happens to be his mashup called “Californian air.” It’s the Eagles vs The Chemical Brothers :-) ~Peilo
The dismantling of OiNK generated an enormous amount of coverage for the file-sharing community. The private BitTorrent website was one of the largest private websites online with over 180,000 members. Currently, the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) has claimed responsibility for the take down of the website and the administrator was arrested at his flat (as the BBC report clearly showed). While there is no shortage of information that is currently going around, it seems that incorrect information has been introduced into the mix. Slyck has taken the time to separate the myths from the facts in the hopes to provide some clarity into the event that gripped the private BitTorrent file-sharing community.
We begin our journey with actual correct information. On October 23, 2007, OiNK, a private BitTorrent website was taken down by British and Dutch police in a raid. The Dutch police confiscated the servers, while the British took the administrator into custody. The IFPI did issue a press release applauding the move.
