GLASTONBURY (Reuters) - The tents are packed up and most of the 140,000 music lovers have made their weary way home, but memories of this year’s Glastonbury festival, and its headline act Jay-Z, are likely to linger.
The choice of the rapper to perform on the main stage at a festival best known for its guitar-based rock acts was widely criticized, and Oasis’s Noel Gallagher riled the musician by saying the organizers were wrong to pick him.
Jay-Z’s response was emphatic.
He opened his show with a film using Gallagher’s now infamous comments and a montage of clips parodying him, before launching into an acoustic rendition of one of Oasis’s biggest hits: “Wonderwall.” Most fans and critics were impressed.

Good things come to those who wait….<—-this coming from the least patient person in the world when it comes to some things, of course always the things that should be simple…Im working a lot, but love my current job, very challenging, though at times a strain on the brain :P, any who, it’s been a minute figured I would drop some love ~ Peilo
The RIAA won a pair of victories last week as a judge finally awarded the labels a default judgment in a case where the defendant never showed up in court. In another case, the RIAA convinced a judge to award $23,250 in damages after the defendant admitted to downloading and sharing music over KaZaA.
Phelina is living music http://www.myspace.com/phelinamusic I think 2008 is going to be a great year for music. So many wonderful unknows with music that is truly blissful and just plain phenomenal. Phelina produces just that kind of music. An unknown group of artists, performers, that if you asked me, I would say is a diamond in the rough. You want to hear something mellow and upbeat. Give these two a listen~Peilo
“Phelina and Daniel met one day to play nice music together. This site shows the first results of their work.”
Phelina - Little Tree
BIO: Phelina 18, and Daniel 22 are from a mall town in Germany, and are really just at the start of their sublime musical career together. In 2007 , they played in a school musical together and he asked Phelina if she’d like to put together some tracks with him because he was so impressed by her voice that he could not resist. They then wrote 3 songs together and recorded them. My draw dropped after comunicating with them in regards to my request for a bio. Kinda hard to believe once you hear their tracks that she is 18, and they just started together. Perfectly arranged mellow, and upbeat tunes that, makes you stop and think. Real Music.
They have both loved to make music pretty much their entire lifes. A real passion for sound and lyrics with meaning. Phelina’s experience is basicly from just singing around the house and small performances at school. It’s truly amazing that they just started together. Daniel on the other hand was in a rock band for 5 years, mostly music support for bigger german artists, but true musical talent. ~Peilo

Last week a court ruled that Israel
’s largest ISPs should block access to HttpShare, a BitTorrent and http hyperlink site. Thanks to what the owners call “IFPI advertising”, the site is now so busy they’ve had to upgrade their hardware. TorrentFreak caught up with them as they cracked open the champagne.
The Michigan state agency charged with licensing private investigators has indicated that the RIAA’s investigative firm, MediaSentry, needs a PI license to operate in the state. Operating without such a license can be a felony under Michigan state law.
Trent Reznor released a new Nine Inch Nails record over the weekend and has already sold out his 2,500 deluxe editions at $300 a pop. This is what “competing with free” looks like.
We’re very proud to present a new collection of instrumental music, Ghosts I-IV. Almost two hours of music recorded over an intense ten week period last fall, Ghosts I-IV sprawls Nine Inch Nails across a variety of new terrain.
Now that we’re no longer constrained by a record label, we……’ve decided to personally upload Ghosts I, the first of the four volumes, to various torrent sites, because we believe BitTorrent is a revolutionary digital distribution method, and we believe in finding ways to utilize new technologies instead of fighting them.
We encourage you to share the music of Ghosts I with your friends, post it on your website, play it on your podcast, use it for video projects, etc. It’s licensed for all non-commercial use under Creative Commons.
We’ve also made a 40 page PDF book to accompany the album. If you’d like to download it for free, visit http://ghosts.nin.com/main/pdf
Ghosts I is the first part of the 36 track collection Ghosts I-IV. Undoubtedly you……’ll be able to find the complete collection on the same torrent network you found this file, but if you……’re interested in the release, we encourage you to check it out at ghosts.nin.com, where the complete Ghosts I-IV is available directly from us in a variety of DRM-free digital formats, including FLAC lossless, for only $5. You can also order it on CD, or as a deluxe package with multitrack audio files, high definition audio on Blu-ray disc, and a large hard-bound book.
We genuinely appreciate your support, and hope you enjoy the new music. Thanks for listening.
The RIAA and its spinoff SoundExchange pushed through an unpopular flat fee on webcasters last year. Now, the RIAA is lobbying the government to let it pay a percentage rate instead of a flat fee for its own music.
An up and coming electronic producer from the UK, with some very original productions that are very pleasureable and refreshing…..

Vela - Reactions’
Producing electronic music since 2001 after hearing music albums from The Chemical Brothers , Orbital, Underworld to name but a few from the 90’s…This was all the motivation he needed and his musical tastes have grown and are still growing.
Influences come from a wide range of artists, there are a lot of things good with music at the moment, especially dance and electronic music. “Not a lot of people I know personally dig what I do, but since joining myspace, it’s good to know I’m not alone!” - Vela
Check out his profile, if you have got this far, hopefully you will have been enjoying a bit of what he is putting down, He would love to hear your comments, negative or positive!!
New York, New York………..Since the beginning of time, two things have been true: Humans needs food and Humans need to create music. Combine these two prehistoric needs and you find the group Radioactive Sandwich. Slice One and Slice Two came together realizing they were starved for a more fulfilling, hearty breed of music. They felth that they needed to create a hearty, filling meal of music… not only for themselves, but also for the millions of starving people out there just like them.
Combining fresh breaks, groovy bass, and psychedelic synth lines, Radioactive Sandwich servers up a meal that will surely satiate even the strongest hunger.
Radioactive Sandwich has released 3 albums and provided remixes for Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo (feat. Peter Gabriel), and Kelly Sweet. They are currently at work on a 4th release and some more remixes. Keep a look out for new Sandwich coming soon to speakers near you!
Dominic Bodell, has worked with Los Angeles producer, David Eaton, whose productions for unsigned artists (Dynamite Hack “Boyz-N-Tha Hood” and The Polyphonic Spree) have topped radio playlists and lead to major label signings. “He get tons of cd’s from young bands trying to be stars,” producer David Eaton says. “Some people try to write about life. Dominic’s life forces him to write. Thats what makes his music meaningful.”
Dominic also drew great interest from East Coast A&R rep Mickey memphitz wright. He is the former singer/guitarist/songwriter for Rifle Street Music, and this is my new solo project, “This Boys Satellite”. Expect more music on a frequent basis.
“I am writing and recording non-stop . Drop me message or comment often. I love any and all kinds of feedback, comments and mail. I am extremely proud of my latest project, it is my most honest and sincere work to date, I hope you enjoy it too. Thanks everyone, I hope to hear from all of you soon.” - Dominic Bodell (This Boys Satellite)

Deadly Avenger (aka Damon Baxter)
It was hard to choose just one track to showcase but I went with one of my faves. “Chevy Chases Hair“, lol funny title, but an unbeliveable subtle electronic breakbeat track…ahhhh…just sooooo smooth, perfect driving music
Deadly Avenger - Chevy Chases hair
It’s midnight. Everything is quiet. The sound of owls compete for their space in the country soundscape with the creak of a 300 year old oak tree caressed by the wind. Filtering over the top like some kind of futuristic symphony orchestra the sonorous harmonies of weighty strings, floating over the electronic drums and ethereal vocals break through the calm. This is the sound of Deadly Avenger (aka Damon Baxter) hard at work in his studio, installed into his cottage in the Heart of the English countryside.
For the last three years Damon has been holed up in his country retreat hard at work on his new album, the follow up to the cult classic album “Deep Red”, which featured “We Took Pelham”, “Punisher” and “Black Sun”. Due for release in 2008, “Blossoms & Blood”, his stunning 2nd opus, is going to prove that it was truly worth the wait…
“The backdrop of my studio, looking out onto rolling fields inspires me”, says Damon. “Film music is what I love most and having such a dramatic outlook soaks into my work.”
Damon’s love for all things cinematic is evident all the way through his new recording. The storming opener “We Took Vegas” is a case in point and is influenced by Damon’s love of the epic audio/visual feast witnessed at the beginning of “Star Wars” (possibly the finest opening scenes in movie history!) while other tracks such as “Mal Paso Pt II”, “The Reveal” and the title track showcase his talent for juxtaposing sweeping, epic string parts with electro breaks. Another aspect of the Deadly Avenger sound can be heard in “Invincible”, “Chevy Chases Hair” and “Gekko” which reveal a techno influence that ups the tempo, but retain his skill for harmony and melody. There are also some shining examples of leftfield down-tempo tracks in “Sequola”, “Suite from Near To Me”, “Exit” and “Everyday is Valentine”, while some tracks combine all of these elements with stunning results – “The Wraith”, “800 Heroes” and “Midgets for Seven”.
“The thing I like most about film music is that there are no boundaries. You can team up lush orchestral pads with heavy industrial bass and it works!”
It’s clear the music on this album is inspired by Damon’s admiration of the great film composers (such as John Williams, Lalo Schifrin and the mind blowing Luchi DeJesus!). But his love affair with hip-hop/electro breaks, Americana, synthpop, electronica, and soundtrack selections by the likes of Tarantino are all evident too. It’s this melting pot of influences that are fused to create an incredible album and a deep appreciation of cinematic sounds.
Tracks from his first album have been used in a number of TV, trailers and film productions including Lord of The Rings, Scary Movie 3, Human Traffic and The Calcium Kid and the new album is sure to follow that trend. There has already been excitement from the synch world in “Blossoms & Blood” resulting in uses in “C.S.I. New York”, the main BBC theme for coverage of The Commonwealth Games, Sky/Fox Sports, and a recent Sky TV advertising campaign. Deadly’s music is also used in “Beyond The Rave” – a brand new production from the masters of UK horror, Hammer Films. Damon has also just started work on scoring a full-length movie (music to picture).
